russian army is occupying Georgia

Currently Russian army is attacking Georgian territories in various places outside of the conflict zone.

Russians already control the South Ossetia, as Georgia has withdrawn its forces from the region. Outside of the region, the city of Gori and Kodori valley are under attack, an attack is expected on the city of Zugdidi in the western Georgia. Both Ukrainian and Georgian officials are reporting that Russia plans to invade Georgia from the sea as well. Russian Black sea fleet is being prepared for that purpose in the port of Sevastopol.

Meanwhile, the Georgian society realizes that no help should be expected from the European countries and the US. It seems that the so-called western world accepts Russian occupation of Georgia, which means that Georgia is destined to be a Russian colony. Nothing except for standard formal speeches is being done by the western officials.

Georgian soldiers have been dying in Iraq for worldwide security, but the world did nothing to protect Georgian independence. Georgia, a little country with just 4 million inhabitants, has no weapons of mass destruction and doesn’t host international terrorists. The only thing Georgian society wanted to achieve, was independence from the Russian empire. But currently Georgia is a tool for Russia, to help Russians preserve their imperialistic ideology.

When Russia gets YOU, please don’t complain!

We never bombed Russian territory. It’s Russia who gave its passports to the GEORGIAN CITIZENS, it’s Russia who backs separatism in Georgia. Ossetians live all across the Georgia, we have relatives among each other. We ARE RELATIVES! It’s russian divide-rule politics that leads to the GENOCIDE OF ENTIRE CAUCASUS! Russia knows that it can never achieve anything unless it creates this mess and conflict in Caucasus.

BEWARE, Russia! Beware! Chechnya will be just a sweet memory if you do this to Georgia – remember! We have a history of 3 000 years of existence as a state! We survived through centuries – we defeated all the aggressors of the world that entered our country. WE KNEE ONLY WHEN WE KISS GEORGIAN FLAG! Wake up Russian civilians! YOUR STATE IS CRIMINAL!

[Elene] what exactly do you mean?

Yes, this post was emotional, but I think it’s evident from the text…

Being in Iraq did nothing for world security.
And the belief that it did might be tied in with the current error of judgement.

I personally don’t have any beliefs concerning Iraq

I just said that taking into account Georgia’s faithful pro-western policy, the western world’s failure to protect Georgia’s independence from Russia looks very unfair and upsetting

Iraq equals 100’s of thousand dead and maimed women and children and a lot more.

Perpetrated by the very people who Georgia relied on and supported.

Does the Iraq story justify what Russians are doing to Georgia?

Don’t forget, that all the events happened on the Georgian territory, not on Russian…

I will translate the HeadCrab’s comment : “all (some swear words) Georgians should die”

a typical result of Putin’s ideology and propaganda

I don’t mean to sound ignorant, but… I never understood why the strive for separation must always result in so much bloodshed. What will this combat determine? I’m from Nalchik myself, my heart goes out to all the victims so far…

    dear Sam K
if you’re from Nalchik, you probably know many sad things about Russian attitudes

I’m sure you know what Russians have done to Chechens and not only that…

Isn’t it cynical that Putin, who has killed 80,000 civilians in Groznyi and much more throughout Chechnya, may accuse someone of ethnic cleansing claiming death of 1500 civilians?!

And isn’t it obvious, that while in Chechen war there were just Chechens and Russians, in the Russian-Georgian war it’s a nonsense to accuse only the Georgian side of the deaths in the conflict region.

Russians have been intensively bombing Tskhinvali at least for two days, while Georgian forces were there.

Moreover, they’ve done the same on the whole territory of SO.

How do you know, that those who are dead weren’t killed by Russian bombings?!

And right now nobody knows exactly what Russian soldiers are doing to the local population in SO, especially the ethnic Georgians, who lived there. The Russians don’t even let in any humanitarian organizations from the Georgian side. Why?
